Mayor's Challenge

MAYOR'S CHALLENGE

The Mayors of Eastover, Falcon, Godwin, and Wade are joining with the Eastover-Central Recreation Center to help build healthier communities.  Throughout the month of May the Mayors are challenging their towns to get out and exercise by utilizing the existing parks and walking trails.  There will be log cards placed at the Town Halls and the Recreation Center where participants can pick one up and keep a tally of the miles they've walked, run, or biked.  (This is completely on the honor system.)  Cards will be turned into the recreation center, and winners will be recognized (by age groups) and given trophies or certificates at the June meeting of their respective towns.  Fitness and nutrition classes will also be held at the recreation center to help promote healthy living.  Every Wednesday will be our Wellness Wednesday Walk, which will rotate to each town park.  There will be a "Kickoff Mile" during the Heritage Day Parade in Eastover on Saturday, May 3rd.  All the Mayors will walk in the parade while holding a banner to promote the challenge.  We look forward to your participation.
